I have not written about the Spurs in a bit because I have a DVR full of games that are half-watched. The short version of my impression of their performance is that there is a lot of good (assists!) but still no high IQ closing mentality.
One thing I have seen is the former Spur DeMar DeRozan ballin out with the Bulls. His departure was hailed as a curious reach for the Bulls, and a welcome event in San Antonio. I liked DDR’s time in SA, and thought he made the most of it considering he never wanted to be here and we all compared him to Kawhi even sub-consciously.
The Bulls are getting their money’s worth for their big free agency leap of faith. At least for now.
It’s fun to see him doing what he can do. The Spurs and DDR are both better off apart, but right now it sure is fun to thing about what a closer like him could do with this team.
